Position Summary
The Dispatcher / Vehicle Storage Facility Employee position is a dual role, customer-facing position.
In the role of a Vehicle Storage Facility (VSF) Employee, team members assist vehicle owners with the payment process and facilitate the release of impounded vehicles stored at our licensed facility. They relay accurate information about the vehicle pick-up process, collect related fees, answer questions, provide additional processes as needed, and allow vehicle owners and/or representatives access to the gated areas using our gated entry push-point system. VSF Employees also verify vehicle information and report vehicles to law enforcement when necessary.
In the role of a Dispatcher, team members handle tow service requests from various sources, including the motoring public, law enforcement agencies, multifamily clients, private business owners, and insurance companies. They prioritize these requests and assign them to tow truck operators. Requests can be received via phone, online towing software, and emails. Dispatchers communicate with tow truck operators using electronic communication platforms, radios, and phones.

Objectives:
- Consistently follow standard operating procedures, processes, and scripts without deviation.
- Facilitate the release of impounded vehicles by confirming vehicle information and collecting and verifying vehicle ownership documentation.
- Accurately process and document cash, credit card and check transactions.
- Efficiently use a point-of-sale system, including sending payment links to customers.
- Effectively use an electronic safe to deposit cash and check payments.
- Document and process payment during vehicle pick-up
- Operate gate-controls, allow vehicle owners or representatives access to their vehicle
- Aid with customer concerns
- Answer calls and relay correct information to vehicle owners of charges and vehicle pick-up process
- Schedule vehicle pick-up
- Receive, inventory, and process vehicles delivered to the vehicle storage facility
- Inventory vehicles in respective storage facilities
- Use telephones, message boards and software to collect and relay messages for employees, upper-level management, and owners
- Receive, quote and collect payment for service requests
- Prioritize service requests and dispatch to tow truck operators
- Provide correct information to tow truck operators
- Maintain office and VSF cleanliness and restocking
- Reliably adhere to assigned work schedules.
- Drive between facilities during shifts as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and random screenings
- Possess a valid TDLR VSF Employee license. TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation) VSF (Vehicle Storage Facility Employee). Apply for a Vehicle Storage Facility Employee License - Texas.gov
- Maintain an active TDLR VSF Employee license.

Physical Requirements:
- The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods of time throughout the shift.
- The candidate must be able to navigate unlevel outdoor terrain, steps, moving from indoor to outdoor spaces.
- The candidate must be able to work during and in all Texas weather conditions.
- The candidate must be able to service customers through a service window.
- The candidate must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
- The candidate must have reliable transportation to travel between the Austin offices during their shift.
- The candidate must have a working smart phone.
