Maintenance Technician Job Description
Maintain the day-to-day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining all equipment including HVAC, cooking, coolers, etc. in Refuel.
This job was established for the purpose/s of providing services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing,
repairing, maintaining and upgrading all equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available while working at
various locations.
AREAS
OF RESPONSIBILITY TO INCLUDE (but not limited to):
- Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.
- Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems, cooking, and other store equipment for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
- Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
- Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
- Inspects HVAC and cooler systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance.
- Installs heating and air conditioning equipment for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
- Maintains vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of all store equipment.
- Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
- Repairs heating, air conditioning, coolers, stoves, ovens, steam tables and other systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable and safe work environment.
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
- Responsible for minor plumbing in stores.
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Work within expense limits established.
- Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations.
- Schedule and complete the “Preventative Maintenance Program”.
- Responsible for 24-hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled.
- Carry cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
- Monitor and maintain all locations as assigned.
- Responsible for alerting the stores’ area manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that has taken place or that may occur.
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.
- Ensure compliance of all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
- Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- This job requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
- Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
