Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Prime Power Electrician to support our manufacturing area Hazelwood, MO.
The Prime Power Electrician would be responsible for installation and maintenance of vital generators to reduce generator malfunctions and/or failures. The Prime Power Electrician would work outdoors working from an enclosure, indoors using a ladder to work above the ceiling, or clearing an area to work below the floor.

Position Responsibilities:
- Respond to maintenance requests, prioritizing safety and the ability to efficiently deliver quality results and solutions.
- Work on electrical systems up to 35kV
- Protective relay testing
- Installation and maintenance of field components and their infrastructure, including drop boxes, conduit and cabling.
- Run cable through conduit, terminating copper and fiber connections, testing copper and fiber, power supply installation and the replacement of field components or parts.
- Analyze and troubleshoot field component issues.
- Understand the importance of configuration/change management, you mark and label conduit and/or cabling and complete maintenance reports.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities on field components to reduce unexpected issues.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting electrical systems
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with electrical systems, including testing and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
- Experience with electrical systems including National Electrical Code, basic relay logic and high voltage systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Vocational/Trade School degree or certification
- Experience with protective relay testing
Additional Information:
- The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
- This is an hourly position governed by the IBEW Collective Bargaining agreement.
- New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period
Typical Education & Experience:
Education as acquired through high school, relevant experience, and/or trade/vocational training.
Relocation:
This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
