Blue Horizon Energy is looking for a licensed electrician to join our growing Minnesota electrical team.
What we do:
Blue Horizon Energy is an award-winning, full-service clean energy developer with over a decade of experience. Since 2009, we have delivered hundreds of turn-key projects to industrial, commercial, and agri-business customers looking to save money and make an impact by generating clean, sustainable, cost-effective power. Our projects are built by our in-house team of dedicated tradesmen, and we believe strongly that our business succeeds best when our team is engaged and motivated.
The Role:
This journeyman electrician role has opened to replace a long-serving team member who has recently received a well-deserved internal promotion and will no longer be working on full time in-field construction.
Our construction teams build solar energy, battery storage, and EV charging projects at commercial, industrial, civic, and agri-business sites. We primarily work in Minnesota but from time to time travel work will be available. Our electricians are responsible for leading the electrical construction at each project site, working with apprentices, technicians, and other skilled trades to deliver high-quality, high-performance projects.
Journeyman and Master Electricians are both welcome to apply, with compensation to be based upon experience. Prior solar energy experience is a benefit but is not required for success. In fact, most of our electricians have transitioned into solar energy construction from other electrical construction disciplines.
As a team-driven company, we are looking for employees who want to join a winning team and work together as our business continues to grow. This is an opportunity for long-term, year-round employment.
Strong Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay, plus recurring overtime opportunities.
- Standard 4x10 or 4x12 schedule, generally leaving Friday-Sunday for personal time.
- Company-provided vehicle and fuel (or vehicle stipend, if preferred).
- 100% Company-paid employee health insurance.
- Company contribution to family and dependent health insurance.
- 401(k) with 4% contribution match by company.
- On-the-job training and education in solar energy.
- Opportunities for Tuition Reimbursement and Paid Training, including company-reimbursed electrical continuing education.
- Opportunities for project-based bonuses and premium pay, when applicable.
- Significant opportunities for advancement within a growing business and industry.
Qualifications:
- Electrical construction experience and State of Minnesota electrical license.
- Familiarity with NEC code and electrical safety.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and other construction apparatus.
- Ability to read single-line diagrams and site plans for electrical construction.
- Valid driver's license and reasonable driving history record.
- Desire to work together with your team for successful project delivery.
