What We Are Looking For
GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of HVAC Apprentice to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As an HVAC Apprentice, you will assist in maintaining, installing, repairing and replacing residential heating and cooling equipment.
How You’ll Help
- Assist with installation, inspection and troubleshooting current HVAC system issues
- Keep record of customer appointments and payment transactions including invoices
- Clean, maintain and lubricate parts, equipment and tools
- Keep accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
- Prepare parts, tools and staging area for projects
- Travel to homes and businesses as scheduled daily
- Install new heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
- Perform consultations with customers, determine customer needs and discuss all solution methods
- Conduct performance tests with specialized tools
Experience/Skills You’ll Need
- Must have or be able to obtain Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification
- Must possess great personality, positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to self-start, multi-task, and learn quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot minor issues independently
- Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team
- Emergencies and busy seasons may require some Saturdays and overtime
- Able to pass a Criminal History Background Check, physical, drug and alcohol screen
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have a valid Texas Driver License
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Current State of Texas HVAC License
Your Pay
The pay range for this role is between $18.00-$23.00/hr. and will be commensurate based on your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition, GVEC ties cash bonuses to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually.
