Plumber Technician
Position Overview:
The Plumber Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in a controlled commercial manufacturing environment, and industrial settings. This includes working with pipes, fittings, and fixtures involved in the distribution of water, gas, or sewage, as well as troubleshooting and fixing plumbing issues. The Plumber Technician adheres to safety standards and regulations while ensuring that all systems are functioning properly and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including water, gas, and sewage lines.
- Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues or potential problems.
- Utilize hand and power tools to perform plumbing tasks, including soldering, welding, drilling, and pipe fitting.
- Ensure that all installations and repairs meet local plumbing codes and standards.
- Perform regular maintenance on plumbing systems, such as cleaning drains and testing pressure.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide solutions.
- Replace defective components, including faucets, pipes, and fixtures.
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out plumbing systems and ensure proper installation.
- Communicate with management to discuss plumbing issues and provide cost estimates for repairs.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Keep work area clean and organized, and properly store tools and equipment.
- Report issues or concerns to supervisors and provide recommendations for system improvements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and tools, including the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficient in using plumbing tools, such as pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, and plungers.
- Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot plumbing issues, and make necessary repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to plumbing work.
- Ability to work efficiently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand, walk, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing preferred.
- Valid plumber's license as required by local regulations preferred.
- Proven experience as a plumber technician or similar role.
- Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Strong performance in quality work, safety adherence, and customer satisfaction.

Work Environment:
This job operates in various settings, commercial buildings, and construction sites. The Plumber Technician may be exposed to a range of conditions, including confined spaces, heights, extreme temperatures, and loud noises. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and hard hats may be required depending on the work environment.
