Job Summary
This position is responsible for effectively leading the Maintenance department to provide site and plant maintenance services to enable the Thermo Pac operations and other functions to meet or exceed business expectations in cost, quality, compliance, safety, culture and capital. This individual interacts with several departments and management representatives in an effort to provide the most efficient facility and equipment possible.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for all plant equipment and the facility, which includes the development of a work order program
- Continually looking for new processes and equipment that would make the process more efficient
- Develop and maintain equipment and parts supplier base
- Oversees the purchasing and maintenance of spare parts to minimize carrying costs while ensuring spare parts are available to prevent a line shutdown
- Continually look for cost saving opportunities within the plant as related to outside services and utilities
- Identifies opportunities for training and development of Maintenance Technicians
- Responsible for the validation and calibration of flow meters ,heat recording devices, and other electronics used in the production process
- Overall responsibility of maintaining the maintenance department in a clean, organized, safe manner
- Optimizes layout of plant equipment to aid in the development of plant efficiencies
- Manage capital equipment purchase projects from start to finish as appointed by the General Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations, or other equivalent degree
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong computer proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products
- Experience in Hot-fill operations and/or packaging operations is preferred
- Experience in management, food processing, preventative maintenance techniques, or Six Sigma is a plus
