A Air Compressor Technician maintains and repairs air compressors, related machinery, and equipment. They inspect and diagnose system performance, identify and troubleshoot malfunctions, and make repairs or recommend system modifications and upgrades. They also assemble and install new systems, maintain service and maintenance records, and operate specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, diagnose and repair air compressors
- Install air compressors and components
- Perform scheduled maintenance on air compressors
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of air compressor systems
- Conduct tests to check performance and safety of air compressors
- Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with air compressors
- Repair and replace parts on air compressors
- Install and test new air compressors
- Perform preventative maintenance on air compressors
- Maintain records of maintenance and repairs
- Proficiency in diagnosing, servicing and repairing air compressors
- Knowledge of air compressor operations and maintenance
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics
- Able to use hand tools and specialized air compressor maintenance equipment
- Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
