Job Description:
As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems in commercial buildings. You will work closely with property owners, managers, and facility maintenance teams to ensure the efficient operation of heating and cooling systems. Your primary duties will include:
1. **Diagnosis and Repair: ** Identify issues with HVAC systems through troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques. Repair or replace defective components such as motors, compressors, thermostats, and control systems to restore proper functionality.
2. **Preventive Maintenance: ** Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting HVAC systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
3. **Installation and Upgrades: ** Assist with the installation of new HVAC systems and equipment in commercial buildings. Follow blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer instructions to ensure proper installation and compliance with building codes and regulations. Recommend upgrades or modifications to improve system efficiency and performance.
4. **Emergency Service: ** Respond to emergency service calls to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems in commercial properties. Work efficiently and effectively to resolve issues and minimize downtime for clients.
5. **Customer Communication: ** Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair options, pricing, and timelines. Provide recommendations for ongoing maintenance and system upgrades to enhance performance and longevity.
6. **Documentation and Reporting: ** Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, inspection findings, and parts inventory. Complete paperwork and documentation in a timely manner to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
**Qualifications: **
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in commercial HVAC service and repair
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a variety of HVAC systems, including rooftop units, boilers, chillers, and cooling towers
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems
- Familiarity with HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- EPA Universal Certification Preferred
