The Manager, Facilities is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, utility, and support systems of LCMC Health. Provides oversight, management, and coordination of direct reports and outside contractors to ensure proper and safe maintenance. Ensures proper repair and maintenance of all utility equipment, fire alarm, sprinkler, electrical, plumbing, HVAC/engineering, and special systems as designated by the department Director.
Your Everyday
Leadership:
- Assists the Director in all aspects of the Facilities Management Department.
- Provides guidance to all personnel to obtain optimal productivity and an acceptable level of morale within the department.
- Interacts with personnel to assist with training of new employees, develops in-service training, resolves safety issues, disputes, disciplinary actions, and other concerns.
- Establishes departmental procedures and works with leadership throughout the facility to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for the patients and family, visitors, and staff.
Budget:
- Receives pricing from vendors to ensure the best pricing and quality for needed services, equipment, and supplies is obtained.
- Ensures appropriate amount of items are ordered to avoid over stocking and overspending.
- Works with Director to gather pricing for future budgeting purposes.
Preventive Maintenance/Work Orders:
- Develops and maintains current preventative maintenance programs to maintain the buildings, equipment, alarm systems, grounds, and building support systems to ensure that the maximum time of service is received from the buildings and grounds. Approves work orders for maintenance purposes.
Daily Functions:
- Assigns duties to subordinates and oversees the servicing of mechanical equipment systems.
- Provides supervision of the maintenance for buildings, grounds, and utility systems.
- Maintains proper functioning and operation of control systems, alarms, and fire detection systems.
- Develops a plan, supervises the fertilizing and care of the trees, grass, shrubs, and grounds.
Other Duties:
- Serves as liaison with outside consultant services and contractors for design, construction, mechanical, and engineering services. Assists with designs and code of compliance of building systems and equipment.
- Provides fire safety training as requested for Hospital employees.
The Must-Haves
Minimum:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate combination of education and work experience is required:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent AND 5 (five) years of experience in building maintenance within commercial facilities (healthcare, hotel or similar) and/or related construction industries AND 3 (three) years of progressive experience in the supervision of multiple direct reports.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required: Valid Louisiana State Driver's License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to make decisions regarding risk assessments, utility inventory for utility maintenance strategies, and alternative equipment maintenance strategies.
- Strong knowledge demonstrated work experience in maintaining, repairing various types of building finishes and equipment.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and electrical testing equipment requiring manual dexterity.
- Ability to understand complex oral and written instructions, schematic drawings, and layouts.
- Ability to utilize computer, printer, copier, telephone, calculator, cell phone and 2-way radios.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software products.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population.
- Ability to work alternative/shift work schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours.
