Sales Engineer – Commercial Hydronic HVAC and Plumbing Equipment
Mechanical Room, Inc is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.
As a Sales Engineer you will focus on growing our customer base and increasing revenue by taking a consultative approach to selling boilers, pumps, and ancillary equipment. You will manage existing accounts, develop client relationships, and cultivate new accounts by providing high-quality service and custom solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
- Achieve growth objectives by expanding existing accounts within the state of Arizona
- Drive revenue and market presence by promoting MRI and its related HVAC and plumbing equipment
- Prospecting new business as well as maintaining existing accounts
- Actively calling on specifying engineers and HVAC and Plumbing contractors
- Promoting MRI’s manufacturers’ equipment by facilitating lunch-n-learns and giving power point presentations
- Build relationships and arrange meetings with prospective clients/customers to assess needs and onsite equipment requirements
- Assist customers by providing technical solutions, identify and communicate opportunities, prepare proposals, handle customer inquiries and work with the engineering team to generate sales quotations based on each project
- See projects through to completion ensuring equipment expectations and deliverables are met
- Assist with final commissioning of boilers, pumps, and HVAC equipment
- Review construction plans, online bid sites, and websites for obtaining bidders lists & identifying potential jobs
What You Need for this Position
· Experience working for a pump/boiler manufacturer or manufacturers’ rep co.
· Account management and sales experience with pump and boiler systems
· Estimating experience
· Mechanical engineering degree preferred
· General knowledge of HVAC, pumps, and boiler auxiliary systems
· Ability to work independently and solve customer-facing problems
· Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
· Technical aptitude (training provided on product-specific aspects)
· Self-starter with good time management, planning, and organization skills
· Customer service focus
· Reliable transportation and ability to travel to meet customers
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
