This job posting is for a Facilities Manager to begin July 1, 2024 at the Detroit Waldorf School (DWS).
The Position:
The DWS Facilities Manager ensures that the physical plant and grounds of DWS are maintained and primary roles include, but are not limited to, planning and implementing building maintenance, renovations, all licensing, certification and code compliance requirements, boiler license and maintenance, monitoring utilities needs, short and long term budgeting and planning, capital improvements, and collaboration of all facility responsibilities with Co-Manager. This position is year-round and salaried with paid vacation time and health, dental, and disability insurance.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have or be willing to obtain a Low Pressure Boiler Operators License and an AHERA Designated Person Certificate (asbestos management). Candidates should have hands-on knowledge and experience in the safe operation of a variety of tools, machinery, and power equipment, basic electrical, carpentry, and plumbing skills, strong organizational skills, and a willingness and flexibility to work in a school environment with a co-facilities manager.
