Position Summary:
The HVAC Technician utilizes HVAC/VTAC skills to install heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in the creation of modular housing units, ensuring each modular unit is equipped with efficient and reliable HVAC systems; and may perform various tasks supporting modular unit production.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with employees concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the parameters of the build.
- Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job.
- Installs and inspects HVAC systems in accordance with company standards and industry regulations/codes.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and makes necessary repairs or replacements.
- Collaborates with the construction team to ensure proper installation and integration of HVAC systems in modular buildings.
- Builds, dismantles, and repairs structures, walls, roofs, glass, and siding as assigned.
- Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
- Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
- Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
- Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
- Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as rulers, levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
- Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
- Maintains HVAC/VTAC knowledge with industry advancements and best practices in HVAC technology.
- Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
- Always adheres to safety protocols and follows policies and procedures.
Other:
- Regular and predictable attendance within the Ginosko-assigned facilities.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Experience: Three years' experience in the building trades field with proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair; previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
- Certificates & Licenses: HVAC preferred.
- Other Requirements: Strong stakeholder service skills. Exceptional dedication to dependability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Additional abilities required:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including electrical and mechanical components.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems.
- Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
- Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
- Ability to read, write and use micrometers, calipers, tape measures and other related measurement equipment required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and works well as part of a team and independently.
