Job Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing simple maintenance tasks as assigned by the Chief Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth operation at the Detroit Athletic Club.
Key Responsibilities:
Initially, you will work closely with an HVAC expert and learn how to change the filters of the HVAC units.
Follow the direction of the Chief Engineer to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
Maintain assigned tools and equipment in clean working order, notifying the Chief Engineer of any repair needs or malfunctions.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment history.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines, and ensure all equipment and systems comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Work closely with other team members, such as engineers, facility managers, and other technicians, to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
Respond to emergency maintenance calls and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Qualifications:
Some basic knowledge of the use of hand and power tools.
Some mechanical aptitude.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in some construction or maintenance tasks.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to receive and follow instructions clearly.
A dependable and consistent work ethic, meeting the established attendance schedule.
Ability to complete tasks independently and efficiently during the workday.
Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
