HVAC Technician / Electrical Technician / Refrigeration Technician
Job Purpose:
On Site Technical support of all aspects for Environmental Simulation Equipment including; Installation, service and functional testing for all types of HVAC, Air and Fluid Handling, and Refrigeration equipment. This includes all components including the control systems, compressors, air movers, heat banks, de-humidifiers, spray systems, Data Acquisition, PLC’s, etc. HVAC Technician / Electrical Technician / Refrigeration Technician main function within Q Corporation is to support all required duties as necessary for the implementation and growth of our core business, OEM equipment installation and service.
HVAC Technician / Electrical Technician / Refrigeration Technician Job Duties:
· Determines equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
· Maintain equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and control upgrades; controlling downtime, and ensuring reliability for test utilization.
· Corrects systems deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, Refrigeration, Electrical, Heating components, combustion fuel, Exhaust systems, Mechanical systems, PLC, HMI, DAQ, hydraulics; completes shop operations as necessary; making adjustments and repairs as necessary.
· Verifies equipment and testing chamber performance by completing new equipment installation according to proper industry standards for all refrigeration and electrical components; adjusting controls and systems to operate efficiently following project specific engineering design.
· Following Prescribed methodology for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting utilizing formatted checklists, site reports, operational evaluation spreadsheets for optimum work efficiency.
· Carry out PM and RCM tasks as assigned to ensure customers environmental simulation equipment/chambers are functioning and reliable.
· Maintains vehicle and other company assets appearance by cleaning, washing, maintenance.
· Maintain customer equipment/chambers and facility records by annotating services reports, filing summary paperwork, communicating follow up needs from new installation and repairs.
· Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; requesting repairs from Field Administrator.
· Contains costs by utilizing cost effective solutions to field installation challenges, and service trouble with on site equipment, selective vendor choice and ensuring that the company resources are implemented where applicable.
· Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt, as assigned by field manager, or field administrator.
· Prepare and file appropriate technical documentation as required reporting operational information to service manager, engineering department etc.
· Properly utilize applicable safety tools and equipment. Maintain procedures to ensure all PPE and other safety equipment including fire permits, fall protection, overhead lifting plans etc are utilized as necessary or required by facility owner or company policy.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
· Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Minimum working experience within industry of 1 year
Must be able to work efficiently without direct supervision, maintaining effective communication of job/project progress and or needs to the Field Manager and Or Field Administrator.
· Technical skill sets within the refrigeration, electrical, operational troubleshooting disciplines is required. Training is provided for industry specific equipment.
· Familiarity with laptop computers, Microsoft office software, CAD, maintaining email, phone, instant message communications. Utilizing proper file storage and data transfer through utilization of the company web portal and data storage servers via secure VPN.
· Ability to read and interpret systems blue prints/schematics for refrigeration, electrical and process controls and systems.
· Ability and comfort with maintaining job travel as required (typically approximately 50%) within the US and some international travel. Ability to secure passport as required.
· Maintain acceptable driving record.
· Perform all physical duties and tasks as typically associated with HVAC/R work. Standing for prolonged periods, heavy lifting, climbing on and around equipment/ladders/lifts etc.
· Operate under deadlines, communicate needs, and ensure work environment is maintained in a professional manner.

This includes all components including the control systems, compressors, air movers, heat banks, de-humidifiers, spray systems etc. Lead Installers main function within Q Corporation is to support all required duties as necessary for the implementation and growth of our core business, OEM equipment installation, by leading our installation efforts project by project as assigned throughout North America and others.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
