Overview:
Assemble, install, or repair HVAC equipment per specifications and manufacturer’s recommendations.
High Level Job Functions:
- Installation of all types of HVAC equipment, piping, control wiring, thermostats, motors, control boards, etc..
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
- Review blueprints, submittals, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures.
- Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools.
- Anchor steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes and equipment in place.
- Direct helpers engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of HVAC systems or components.
- Material, tool, and equipment ordering, receiving, and returning
Required 2 years of experience in HVAC installations
Detailed Job Functions:
- Understanding of drain and lineset connection requirements
- Cut, bend, or thread pipe for gas, air, or water lines
- Move or fit heavy objects
- Understand construction specifications
- Assemble and install pipe sections, fittings, and HVAC equipment
- Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
- Pressure test piping system or equipment for leaks
- Adhere to safety procedures
- Perform safety inspections in construction or resource extraction setting
- Maintain or repair work tools or equipment
- Braze or Solder copper tubing or components together
- Use hand or power tools
- Use pressure gauges
- Use oral or written communication techniques
- Determine installation, service, or repair needed
- Determine material or tool requirements
