CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Chiller Technician
DEPARTMENT: Service Department
REPORTS TO: HVAC Field Supervisor or Service Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting to develop solutions for our customers. This individual is responsible for the installation, retrofit, and repair of complex HVAC systems utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting and structural layouts.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES (other duties may be assigned)
- Represents company by serving as a direct customer contact and trusted advisor.
- Install, maintain and repair air-cooled chillers.
- Diagnose air-cooled chiller problems such as compressors, condensers, evaporators , control issues, DO preventive maintains.
- Responsible for servicing all manufacturers and application types (air-cooled, water-cooled, centrifugal, screw, and magnetic drive) up to 1,500 tons.
- Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at customers’ locations.
- Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work as necessary.
- Uses a variety of hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
- Maintains vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and complete repairs and maintenance service.
- Documents work by completing work orders on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration. Maintains files and turns in all paperwork and reports in a timely manner via iPad.
- Keeps current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair.
- Participates in CSUSA Online Technician Development Program.
- Attends referred training programs designed to further working knowledge of the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum eight (8) years related experience and/or training.
- Needs to be able to install, maintain and repair air-cooled chillers.
- Diagnose air-cooled chiller problems such as compressors, condensers, evaporators , control issues, DO preventive maintains.
- Utilize advanced tools and HAVC knowledge.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver's license
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification Required.
- TDLR Required
