Job Summary:
We are ABM the premier authority in off street parking in downtown Minneapolis. We operate all the city of Minneapolis owned parking structures and lots. ABM is a fortune 500 company with 120,000 employees worldwide. We are seeking an Entry Level Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Tech I will assist the Chief Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor in operation, maintenance, and repair programs across the branch facilities to assure maximum life and reliability of all systems within the property. This position will assist in general maintenance and operation processes.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for maintenance work, both inside and outside in all elements and weather and will have a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
The successful candidate(s) must be able to pass a background check with a motor vehicle background as well and must successfully complete a drug screen.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks under the supervision of experienced technicians
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and performing repairs
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Learn to use various tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks
-Ability to perform general building maintenance tasks while acting independently after a proper training period.
- Must possess general computer skills including Microsoft Office products and CMMS Systems.
- This position requires that the selected candidate(s) have a current and valid drivers license and will have to pass a driving background check.
Experience:
- Familiarity with using Ohmmeter and Voltmeter for electrical testing
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in the English-language manuals, schematics, and technical documents
- Interest in field service work and willingness to learn HVAC/R and boiler systems
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting and repairs
- Experience with stick welding is a plus
- Ability to fabricate parts or components as needed
- Familiarity with operating a scissor lift for elevated maintenance tasks

This position is a general labor position with room to grow and advance.
