The General Manager will grow profitability in all facets of dealership operations, with an emphasis on fixed operations excellence, customer service and employee satisfaction. This positions plans, directs and controls all activities of the branch profit centers for the overall growth and profit objectives for the respective departments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manages the Profit and Loss for all dealership activities.
- Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities of the branch.
- Establishes short and long-term operating and profitability objectives for dealership, within the South Texas Truck Centers overall plans and policies.
- Insures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout dealership.
- Aids in formulating annual and monthly business plan, sales/profit objectives and expense budgets with department managers which are in accordance with South Texas Truck Centers objectives.
- Aids in developing in-house sales and marketing strategies with the department managers to ensure objectives are obtained; supervises delivery of sale for trucks, parts and service.
- Indirect supervisor to all employees employed locally at the branch level; this includes all parts, service and office personnel.
- Ensures the branch is in compliance with local, state and federal governmental regulations.
- Maintains appropriate communications within and between various departments and functional areas within the branch; holds individual conferences as required.
- Establishes and maintains satisfactory customer and public relations; final arbitrator between customers and department managers when the need arises.
- Aids in developing and training department managers; reviews and appraises their performance.
- Lead, train, coach and mentor all dealership staff, with a special emphasis on department managers.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to make logical decisions in support of business demands.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Requires strong leadership ability and decision-making skills.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Requires previous management experience.
- Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of branch operations.
- Truck industry experience.
