We are seeking a Risk Manager to join our team at Christianson A/C & Plumbing in Central Texas. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks that could impact our operations, ensuring the safety and reliability of our services while supporting our mission of excellence.

Responsibilities
- Implementing, training monitoring and enforcing company-wide compliance with health, safety, & licensing policies as they exist or may be created or modified pursuant to Federal, State and local laws, regulations, rules or standards.
- Creating, training, implementing, monitoring and enforcing best practices for quality assurance as they exist, may be created or modified as determined on an as-needed basis.
- Understanding, reviewing and monitoring compliance with the State of Texas licensing requirements for Plumbing, Air Conditioning, LP Gas installers, commercial vehicle operators, disposal of hazardous waste, and the respective state agencies that regulate these activities.
- Detecting, investigating, correcting, and elimination of known unsafe and unhealthy working conditions or potential hazards
- Representing the Company during investigations conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
- Creating and maintaining official records or reports for compliance with all health and safety programs, OSHA reporting requirements, insurance reporting requirements, and other Federal or State agencies reporting requirements
- Posting notices and records as may be required by Federal or State Laws, and insurance carriers.
- Acts as a liaison between the company, employees, company insurers, legal counsel, independent contractors and customers to investigate, document, report and resolve claims for damage or liability.
- Investigates all accidents involving Company employees or independent contractors which will or could potentially create a liability claim for the company and follows up with appropriate plans to prevent such accidents or claims in the future
- Monitors changes in federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations to the extent they impact the operations of the company.
- Continues to educate his or herself in the best practices for health and safety and quality initiatives with the intent to manage and reduce risk the company may incur through ongoing operations.
- Promote a safety culture: Encourage a positive safety culture by recognizing and rewarding safe behaviors and promoting employee involvement in safety initiatives.
Experience Requirements for a Risk Manager
The person who is the best fit for this position is one who possess experience and credentials as a safety professional, has experience and familiarity with the construction industry and more specifically has experience and knowledge of the mechanical trades. As a risk manager, this person needs an aptitude towards managing all potential risks that might have significant financial impact on the company. Such risk includes accidents involving employee health and safety but also claims for defective workmanship or materials, driving accidents, and/or noncompliance with rules, laws codes and installation standards.
Educational Preferences
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Professional Certifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP): A globally recognized certification awarded by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH): This certification focuses on identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards that may cause illness or injury.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP): An entry-level certification that can be a steppingstone to the CSP.
Experience:
- Relevant Work Experience: Several years of experience in safety, health, or environmental roles are typically required.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Experience in the Residential Construction Industry is preferred. Experience in Plumbing and HVAC industry is a bonus.
