Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a fast-paced food processing plant. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production environments and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role is crucial for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and complies with FDA regulations, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Fabricate parts as necessary to maintain machinery and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP protocols, during maintenance activities.
- Assist in the packaging process by maintaining packaging machinery and ensuring it operates smoothly.
- Operate forklifts safely for the movement of materials and equipment within the facility.
- Collaborate with production staff to minimize downtime during maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food production processes and equipment used in a food processing plant.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations related to food safety and quality assurance.
- Ability to fabricate parts and perform basic repairs on various types of machinery.
- Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to maintenance tasks.
- Experience operating forklifts safely within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of HACCP principles and their application in a food production setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members across departments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating shift
- Weekends as needed
