Westfield Washington Schools is seeking to hire a Commercial HVAC Technician to add to the Facilities team.

? Westfield Washington Schools currently contains nine schools, one administration/early learning
building, one transportation building, one natatorium, and one support services building,
encompassing nearly 200 acres of grounds, with more development planned.
? Position Summary:
? Westfield Washington Schools is seeking to hire a Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician to
join our Facilities team. This position provides essential support by performing preventative and
reactive maintenance throughout the district, with a primary focus on HVAC systems, including
chillers, cooling towers, air cooled, boilers, air handlers, VAVs and geothermal in some future
buildings. Additionally, the role may include general maintenance tasks such as electrical,
carpentry, painting, and other related tasks. The position is full-time (40 hours/week, Monday to
Friday) with occasional scheduled on-call duties rotated among the team. While work orders are
assigned, technicians are responsible for planning their day accordingly.
? A Successful Candidate Will Have:
? Extensive experience with commercial HVAC systems and chillers.
? A wide skill set encompassing general maintenance tasks, including electrical, carpentry, and
plumbing.
? Versatile interests with the ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot new equipment and respond to
urgent maintenance needs.
? Excellent time management skills for coordinating complex maintenance tasks efficiently.
? Strong communication skills to interact with school staff, understand their concerns, and arrange
major services.
? Willingness to learn different roles and assist other team members.
? Key Responsibilities:
? Ensuring safety and caution in all aspects of the job.
? Maintaining equipment with organized maintenance logs, keeping equipment clean and
well-maintained.
? Providing own tools, with specialty tools available upon request.
? Driving school vehicles to various Westfield Schools locations as needed.
? Qualifications & Requirements:
? Prior experience as a maintenance technician with a focus on HVAC systems and chillers.
? Ability to lift 50 pounds.
? Valid operator's license.
? Willingness to obtain new certifications if needed.
? Ability to work on top of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and buildings at high heights.
? 608 universal certification
