The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires extensive experience, technical expertise, and leadership abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, fixtures, and equipment
- Design electrical systems and create detailed plans for installations
- Interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement effective solutions
- Ensure all work complies with national, state, and local electrical codes and safety regulations
- Supervise and train apprentices and journeyman electricians
- Obtain necessary permits and coordinate with other trades on construction projects
- Conduct regular inspections and implement preventative maintenance measures
- Provide cost estimates and timelines for electrical projects
- Respond to emergency situations and perform repairs as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Master Electrician license or certification in Minnesota
- 5-7 years of experience as an electrician, including apprenticeship and journeyman levels
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety practices
- Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic devices
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license
Skills:
- Advanced understanding of electrical theory and applications
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints
- Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing various electrical systems
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry best practices
- Proficiency in using computer software for design and documentation
