Salary Range: Entry rate is approx. $34.46-41.02/hr with annual pay of $71,670.14-$85,321 with 3-5 years seniority

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for testing, inspecting and properly repairing electrical components of locomotive systems, equipment and machinery.
LOCOMOTIVE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Test, maintain, and repair locomotive alternators, generators and motors, including AC and DC power control systems, main and auxiliary electrical cabinets, lighting, batteries, and wiring/conduit
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Inspect, adjust, troubleshoot and repair electrical components of various shop machinery and equipment, such as drop tables, may include some welding, mechanical, and electro-magnetic equipment, perform preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment, and machinery to ensure proper function.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date listed above
Ability to report for duty at the designated work location
Able to work safely in the above working conditions
Able to work the above shift/hours
Ability to read, write and communicate (speak, hear and understand) in English
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance
Ability to visually distinguish colors - red, blue, green, yellow and lunar (clear light)
Ability to discriminate and differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds (signals, alarms, etc.) in the work environment
Ability to use hands and use hand tools to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
Ability to climb ladders; get on/off equipment
Ability to bend, walk, stand and sit occasionally with breaks

PROBATIONARY PERIOD
New Hires Northtown - Specialty/ Skilled positions – Electricians are eligible for a $15,000 hiring incentive - payable over ten (10) months in two equal installments of $7,500 available for candidates who meet all qualifications below:
- Offered a position and successfully complete the pre-employment process
- Successful completion of the first four months of new-hire training and service to be eligible for the first $7,500 installment
- Complete 6 additional months of active service at the hired location to be eligible for the second $7,500 installment.
- This incentive will include a 3-year hold-down. Leaving the location or job for any reason will result in 100% repayment and forfeiture of future payments.
