We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician with a strong background in the start-up and commissioning of IMC HVAC systems, including chillers, PCM, FNW, CCC, and other related equipment. This position primarily involves the start-up, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems in critical environments such as data centers. Candidates with data center experience are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HVAC systems, be able to troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure systems are operating efficiently to meet client specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the start-up and commissioning of IMC HVAC systems, including chillers, PCM, FNW, CCC, and other HVAC equipment in data center environments.
- Perform detailed testing and diagnostics on HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure all systems are running at peak efficiency.
- Calibrate HVAC systems and components to meet operational standards and manufacturer specifications, ensuring all systems are balanced and optimized.
- Work closely with the engineering, operations, and project management teams to review system plans, address technical concerns, and ensure systems meet project requirements.
- Complete accurate documentation of start-up procedures, system configurations, testing results, and commissioning reports for clients and internal use.
- with clients to review system performance, address any issues or concerns, and provide updates on system progress during the commissioning phase.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing start-up, testing, and commissioning tasks, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during system start-up, escalate complex issues to senior technical staff, and recommend solutions.
- Provide support during post-commissioning phase to ensure smooth transition and continued operation of HVAC systems.
Professional Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician, with specific experience in start-up and commissioning of large tonnage air-cooled/centrifugal HVAC systems, such as chillers, PCM, FNW, and CCC.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience working in data centers or other mission-critical environments.
- Proficiency in commissioning HVAC systems, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components, and understanding HVAC control systems and automation.
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal), HVAC/R certifications, or other relevant industry certifications.
- In-depth knowledge of IMC HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and associated components.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients, engineers, and team members effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work safely in potentially hazardous environments.
- A valid driver’s license is required for traveling to client sites.
