Café Bastille by Baes is a growing restaurant industry group with one goal in mind, to become the best restaurant offering all-day, everyday Breakfast and Brunch, delivering guests with high-quality food and excellent customer service. Soon to open a new restaurant operation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
We are looking to hire Fort Lauderdale’s restaurant General Manager who will maintain the restaurant’s revenue, profitability, and quality goals, to our standards.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in both the front and back of the house. The General Manager knows how to oversee the dining room, check in with guests and balance seating capacity. Experience is essential, as you’ll hire qualified Cooks and Wait Staff, set work schedules, oversee food prep, manage inventory, orders, the Restaurant’s overall Profit and Loss, and make sure we comply with code, health, and safety restaurant regulations. We expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and guests have the best dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations.
- Deliver superior service, maximizing guest satisfaction.
- Respond efficiently and accurately to guests’ complaints, by problem solving.
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors with the Executive chef
- Organize and supervise shifts.
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products.
- Ensure compliance with city and state code, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
- Control operational costs and identify measures to improve or cut waste.
- Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses.
- Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events.
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g., discounts and social media ads)
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.
Skills and Experience
- Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar role.
- Proven customer service experience as a manager.
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills.
- Acute financial management skills.
- Knows how to use MS Office (Excel and Word)
- BSc degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus.
- Food Handlers or Food Managers certification is a plus.
- 5 years of Restaurant or Hospitality Industry experience.
- 3 years of Restaurant Management experience.
- 2 years of General Manager experience.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
