Responsible, with the operating company, for overall development and management of filings to state and federal regulatory agencies, including those filings which may impact meeting corporate earnings objectives. Responsible for significant input into corporate regulatory strategy development and coordination. Educates others on interrelationships between cost drivers and revenue.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead broad-based effort to develop, file, and manage major filings with state regulatory commissions, in coordination with the operating companies. Assume primary responsibility for development of major filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, as well.
- Support the overall process for the filings, including responsibility for accuracy and completeness of required schedules, and identification of witnesses and development of testimony. Provide input into decision process on key strategic issues shaping the Company's regulatory initiatives.
- Develop teams and networks that extend through the company from which to draw necessary information to develop regulatory strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and policies within the commissions that affect the company's operation. This includes regulatory decisions, rules and information requirements.
- Develop strategic alternatives and analysis and makes recommendations for resolution of regulatory issues.
- Support SWEPCO in carrying out its responsibilities to maintain appropriate business relationships with its respective state commissions by providing data, analysis, and recommendations, as necessary.
- Provide, as authorized, functional supervision over designated subordinates on specific project assignments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with emphasis on one or more of the following - utility accounting and applications, rates, tariff development and application, commercial operations, management, and/or other pertinent experience. Electric utility experience is preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel, including overnight, to support regulatory case activity and ongoing training.
