The CHT/Safety Director develops and implements staff education utilizing the most current safety, maintenance, and system compliance. Is responsible for the quality of patient hyperbaric treatments, staff training and competencies and the adherence to standards of care. Assists in the delivery of hyperbaric treatments and maintains patient and environmental safety
Principal Duties
Provides initial and concurrent documented education for hyperbaric and wound care staff regarding areas of hyperbaric physiology, decompression equipment functions and patient safety
Provides hyperbaric chamber system orientation and serves as preceptor for all staff and physicians
Coordinates and supervises safety drills and maintains oversight of all HBO logs
Participates in staff meetings and required in-services and provides HBO in-services as appropriate
Maintains and orders supplies as appropriate
Proficient in all established hyperbaric guidelines and equipment
Possesses leadership and team building skills, works independently and within a team
Working knowledge of EMR system(s) and documentation requirements
Knowledge of patient confidentiality standards and requirements
Knowledge of outpatient provider services
Ability to communicate and work closely with physicians
Remains current with all appropriate licensures and certification
Education and Experience
Completion of appropriate UHMS hyperbaric safety director training, minimum 1 year of work experience as hyperbaric technician/military training
Current Certified Hyperbaric Technologist
Certified Safety Director or successful completion of UHMS or NBDHMT approved hyperbaric safety director course and eligible to obtain certification within 3 months
BLS issued from American Heart Association

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
