The REE Engineer leads Reliability, Efficiency and Environmental Soundness (REE) technical evaluations of compression systems. The REE program works with compressor operators to highlight present performance level of their equipment and jointly develops a path to improve the reliability, efficiency and environmental soundness of the entire compressor fleets. The REE engineering will use a combination of practical and theoretical tools to complete each of the assessments.
Utilizing established processes to perform REE evaluations, the REE Engineer participates in customer visits to promote HOERBIGER products and services, then prepares and presents the Alignment Meeting content and solutions proposal to the customer.

Essential Responsibilities
- Participate in customer visits to refineries and plants, performing approximately 12 REE evaluations per year
- Support the growing training demand by offering hands on and theoretical training to customers
- Write detailed and accurate technical reports, describing observations and recommendations
- Strive for long term cooperation with customers through the creation of “Compressor Development Plans” containing technical solutions that meet the customer’s expectation of ROI, savings potential and proposed implementation schedule
- Manage assigned projects (including scheduling of meetings, meeting preparation, presentation of results, solution proposal developments, scoping, costing, and approval)
- Improve engineering processes and assist with implementation
- Influence and advise account managers, customer service specialists and customers
- Proactively respond when technical problems occur: summarize the facts, identify options, discuss the merits of each option, select a solution, communicate the path forward, answer questions, ensure all stakeholders understand status
- Understand the unique selling propositions associated with HOERBIGER products and reinforce them with all customers. Assist customers in creating business cases based on the OPEX savings potential of the proposed solutions, to increase chances of being awarded upgrade projects
Technical or Functional Knowledge
- Knowledge of compressor components, operation, and maintenance; understanding of the repair scope and applicable standards and procedures of capital parts
- Experience creating and presenting technical content to an audience
- Proficiency in the use of computers for technical problem solving – spread sheets, word processing, creation of technical presentations and HOERBIGER engineering tools
Experience and Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) from a college or university in Engineering; and greater than 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the compression industry.
- Communicates effectively (verbal/written) with internal/external customers. Writes clearly and informatively; presents information effectively; able to create and deliver technical presentations.
- Able to analyze technical information and make decisions involving complex problems where the information may be incomplete
