Position: Service Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday and OT as needed. NOTE: Will be heavy domestic and international travel
Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with the implementation and maintenance of ValvTechnologies service program by performing service and warranty work, rework or repairs and in-field service for needed valve and part(s) repair in compliance with applicable sales order and warranty information as well as seek opportunities where VTI could make sales contact/prospects for additional product sales while in field.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform in-house service and repairs
- Coordinate, schedule, and perform field service repairs
- Extensive travel, domestic and international
- Assist with education and training of end-user while on field service trips as needed
- Assist with the administration of certification process for selected repair centers
- Seek out sale/prospect opportunities while at customer facilities
- Maintain timesheet, expenses report, receipts, files, records and statistics for all repairs and service
- Submit timesheets, customer service survey information and expense report as necessary upon completion of in-field service visit
- Continual expansion of service, QA, compliance knowledge pertaining to service, engineering, design and QA standards
- May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor
Core Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years’ sales/service experience with engineered valve products and their applications
- Ability to make extensive domestic and international trips as needed
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical/specification writing and interpretation skills
- Extensive experience in a manufacturing, production or service oriented work environment
- Working knowledge of QA, ISO9001, API, ANSI, industry standards and specifications
- Proven track record specifically with problem solving, troubleshooting production, operational malfunctions and service related issues
- Proficient in MS Office Suite specifically MS Excel, and experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
- Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.
- Works well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on time
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
