Job Overview:
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in an industrial establishment. Discusses machine operation with maintenance supervisor, team leads, operators, or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems, repair machines, and ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Must use mechanical, electrical, and problem-solving skills to repair plant equipment in an urgent manner.
- Able to familiarize themselves and have a basic understanding of all equipment in the plant and facility.
- Must use knowledge of plumbing, construction and electrical work to maintain the facility and its corresponding equipment.
- Able to complete maintenance work to the exterior of a facility, including painting, replacing windows or making repairs to A/C condensers.
- Must strive to have an outward mindset and recognize needs and offer support to other staff members.
- Able to work closely with other staff members to respond to maintenance requests for facility, fleet, or equipment service and repairs.
- Able to respond by cellphone or in person to supervisor requests for assistance promptly to reduce factory down times.
- Must be able to follow and comply with safety guidelines, including but not limited to:
- 1. Wearing appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, etc...
- 2. Using Lockout/Tagout hardware to disable machine operation while under repair/service
- 3. Maintain a clean working area free of trash, clutter, or debris."
Experience:
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Associates Degree or Technical Certifications preferred; One (1) or more years of related experience preferred.
- Additional Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and skills related to industrial electrical, electronic, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration maintenance are preferred.
- Language Preferences: Must be able to speak English & Spanish fluently.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Mechanical Skills: Demonstrates a high level of mechanical aptitude; Ability to understand normal equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $24.57 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
