The Senior General Manager will be responsible for leading and driving operational efficiencies and delivering expected results in the areas of Safety, Operations, Sales and Customer Experience to support the continued growth and expansion. In this role, you will support the operation teams in building operational talent, addressing key operational performance challenges and implementing sustainable standard practices. This individual should be comfortable multitasking and working cross-functionally with different business units.

Operational & Financial Management:
- Develops and implements a market area operating plan, consistent with the accomplishment of long range established objectives which will enhance effectiveness and delineate responsibilities and authority.
- Reviews and evaluates market area performance on a continuing basis and establishes proper measures of performance.
- Counsels’ managers and supervisors as to execution of programs, and when necessary, provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans in accordance with prevailing business conditions.
- Develops operating unit budget in a timely manner, forecasting financial and human resource needs for future time periods.
- Assists managers in budget optimization; provides budget compliance support.
- Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
- Attends regularly scheduled Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews, and executes prescribed programs on routing equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.
- Implements and maintains programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the Market Area; Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT)/Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and other Federal and State regulations.

- Works with all business units to drive customer retention and attraction.

- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and state regulations.
- Implementation and management of all safety initiatives.
- Maintain safety processes and procedures up to date.
People Management:
- Responsible for leading and supervising operation managers and supervisors, evaluating performance and delivering feedback.
- Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
- Develops measures to motivate employees and undertake office management.
- Focuses on succession planning and assuring a strong depth within the team.
- Participate in the development of emerging leaders to be ready to move into more responsible roles.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, MBA preferred
- 5-7 years’ experience as Operations manager/leader
- Strong Financial and Business Acumen
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter
- Strong level of accountability
- Upbeat and energized to complete tasks with a positive attitude
