Hockaday Mechanical Corporation wishes to hire an experienced person to assist with improving project performance by producing LOD-400 HVAC co-ordination drawings, HVAC ductwork shop drawings and HVAC pipe pre-fabrication drawings, bill-of-materials for buyout, and as-built documents. Additional work may include submitting, ordering and arranging delivery of the materials needed to complete the work indicated by these drawings, preparing and checking equipment and materials submittal documents and arranging for delivery of those items, attending pre-bid and construction progress meetings, assisting estimators with project quantity takeoff, and other project management and estimating duties as required.
This person must be able to work independently and efficiently and communicate well with other project team members, both inside and outside our organization. Extensive knowledge of HVAC codes, installation practices, and drafting standards is required.
HMC uses the Autodesk suite of products, including but not limited to CadMEP, Revit, Navisworks, and Recap to prepare fabrication drawings, so this person must be familiar with those products. Occasional field work will be required (3-D point cloud creation, field measurements, etc.). Other duties will require this person to use the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Microsoft Project. Experience with Procore and/or Trimble Autobid estimating software is a plus. HMC will consider allowing remote work after the first 90 days.
Physical requirements include the ability to use computer screens, mouse, and keyboard for long periods of time and the ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed. Benefits include health insurance, vacation, holidays, and education assistance. Some travel with infrequent overnight stays may be required. Company may provide transportation or pay mileage. Applicant must pass HMC drug testing and background check, have a valid driver’s license, and have a driving record suitable to HMC’s insurance company.
Bonus is based on project performance, and salary depends on qualifications and experience. HMC will consider remote work arrangements at least part of the time after probationary period is completed.
