Duties and Responsibilities:
- This Hardware / Software position will help support the performance of HVAC systems including but not limited to building controls.
- Evaluate systems for effective energy usage and conservation; make, adjust, repair, replace as needed.
- Use software & hardware in computers and microprocessors for system troubleshooting, adjustment, and repair.
- Modify existing systems and programs, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the objective of creating an optimum system of operation.
- Perform database uploads and downloads to provide DDC controllers with current programs.
- Operate and monitor computer control system equipment. Detect source and nature of system problems.
- Make adjustments to change operating parameters of the system due to emergencies, malfunctions, and change requirements or to optimize operations.
- Perform emergency corrections to restore various alarm conditions, restoring proper system operation.
- Verify correct system and control sequence operations.
- May perform scheduled and unscheduled remote start and stop of equipment.
- Review, modify, and implement programming changes to building automation system to ensure efficient and effective system operations and conformance with standards and guidelines.
- Monitor and adjust process loops for optimum performance.
- Calibrate, repair, and replace building automation system & sensing devices to specifications.
- Occasional trouble calls response to customer needs.
- Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work order requirements.
- Troubleshoot power supplies, controllers, and sensors; take corrective actions.
- Perform backup and restoration of critical system files and maintains archives.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Communicate with project manager to perform the essential functions of the job.
Skills Needed:
· Must have the qualifications, experience, and ability to competently and efficiently perform the duties.
· Prior Energy Management Control Systems and Project Management experience required.
· Experience in instrumentation or large commercial office buildings or the like.
· Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
· Ability to complete required safety training classes.
· Must be able to complete tasks and assignments in a safe, ethical and environmentally responsible manner.
· Computer and Networking skills necessary to perform job functions. ( Level 2 ).
· Must know how to properly markup as-builts upon job completion
· Ability to read and understand design and construction document.
· Ability to work or supervise work in a variety of circumstances including occasional ladder work and high-lift equipment, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/daytime conditions.
· Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire.
· Must be able to work an installation team and manage sub-contractors
· Must be able to work independently on projects
· Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet. Company vehicle will be provided.
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a full background check in order to work for our Drug-Free Company.
