Job Overview:
The Facilities Manager position is primarily focused on facility and capital equipment installation, preventative and unscheduled maintenance of all facets of the facility, including the upkeep and upgrades of the plant. This position requires a high degree of ownership and responsibility for managing labor and materials to ensure that tasks are completed on time and correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish (where necessary), upgrade, and maintain a comprehensive system of records for all facets associated with the maintenance of all plant and process equipment.
- Produce summary and detailed reports representative of maintenance activities, costs, and failure analysis.
- Develop and maintain a site maintenance schedule supported by the maintenance team, suppliers/subcontractors, and affected area/facility location.
- Define, generate, and manage routine periodic preventative tasks to maintain equipment.
- Define and maintain comprehensive spare parts inventory to minimize downtimes associated with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate a team of support personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring that all support functions are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Establish a base of suppliers for parts and contract labor (where necessary).
- Manage outside contractor services, including project specifications, bids, and inspections of all completed work.
- Support and advise the process-engineering group on issues involving equipment, controls, monitoring, and performance of processes.
- Develop and manage site security plan including cameras, alarms, building access setup, and work with the landlord on other insurance inspection & security-related requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronics aptitude skills.
- Ability to design and install mechanical, electrical, and electronic controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
- A comprehensive understanding of production plant requirements regarding filtration, compressed gases, heating/cooling systems, pumps, piping systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- A comprehensive understanding of plant requirements concerning process exhaust, supply air, lighting, and fire protection systems.
- A strong knowledge of deionized water treatment systems maintenance and monitoring/testing techniques.
- Willing and able to work non-production hours as necessary.
- Strong and functional knowledge of statistical process control. Must be able to analyze and process data to drive maintenance, repair, or upgrades to equipment based on measured trends and or spike events. Record of prior formal training required.
- Must be able to multitask and work under stress.
- Must possess strong reading, communication, and comprehension abilities.
- Regularly required to comprehend, generate, and train others on work instructions and SOP's. Must be able to generate and maintain regulatory reports, internal logs, and general company records in a clear, concise manner. Brainstorming and bringing new ideas to the table are an essential part of the position.
- Excellent analytical and advanced mathematical skills are essential to the position.
- Must possess excellent spreadsheet and database management skills, with good general computer and statistical reasoning abilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
