General Job Description:
The Maintenance staff member oversees the maintenance of the boarding home building and grounds. These activities include basic repairs, purchasing approved supplies to perform repairs, and coordination with outside contractors when necessary. The Maintenance staff member will work closely with the Boarding Home Manager to identify what needs to be done and how tasks are prioritized.
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of basic handyman skills in areas including plumbing, painting/drywall, and electrical.
· Ability to follow through to ensure that high priority tasks are completed in a timely way.
· Active driver’s license
· Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and other staff
· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formats
· Ability to pass a background check
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Ensure that the facility and grounds are safe and functional for the clients who live there by completing maintenance tasks
· Communicate with the Boarding Home Manager about tasks, costs for supplies, and progress/concerns
· If a task requires an outside contractor communicate with them and the Boarding Home Manager to coordinate the service
· If the task requires supplies that are not on hand, purchasing those supplies within a determined budget
· Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, perform basic maintenance/cleaning tasks
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
