We are seeking a jack-of-all-trades maintenance technician to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for home and grounds upkeep and may work alone or with a crew. You must be a well-rounded individual who can perform on a variety of equipment units, perform home maintenance, and assist with basic grounds keeping.
Maintenance Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Plumbing: includes the repair, replacement or installation of faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water-dispensing refrigerators, and washing machines.
- Electrical: includes the repair, replacement or installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling lights, ceiling fans, climate control systems, and garage doors openers.
-Drywall repair: includes filling in small holes caused by nails and minor dings from normal wear and tear most commonly performed between the time a tenant vacates a unit and a new renter assumes occupancy. Some large repairs smaller then a sheet of drywall.
-Painting: includes minor touch-ups following damage repair and new coats of paint applied to unit walls between the time a tenant vacates a unit, and a new renter assumes occupancy.
-Appliance repair: includes the repair, replacement or installation of major household appliances, such as refrigerators, dishwashers, range ovens, washers and dryers, hot water tanks, and air conditioners.
-Grounds keeping: includes mowing grass, pulling weeds, trimming and pruning trees and shrubs, watering lawns and plants, replacing light bulbs along pathways and parking areas, sweeping or raking leaves, and tidying up bark or other ground covering.
-Perform pest control duties (i.e. spray insecticide)
-Perform administrative computer tasks as needed
-Have active knowledge of use with smartphone
-Act as on-call handyman when needed
Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications
Must know how to operate a smartphone and own a working smart phone
Completion of an apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician a plus
Experience with maintenance is required, grounds keeping experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and creative skills
Detail oriented and organizational
Thorough working knowledge of facility equipment units, their usage, and safety procedures
Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently
Must have a flexible schedule
Must own tools to do the job
Must have own vehicle truck or van preferred
Must cover own limited liability insurance
This is a 1099 position and will be paid as such.
