About the Role:
Community Living, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our mission, ensuring our facilities and vehicles are safe, functional, and welcoming for our participants. Your role will involve performing a variety of maintenance tasks that keep our spaces operating smoothly, helping create an environment where people can live, learn, and thrive in the community.
This is a FT 40 hours a week position typically Monday through Friday.
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Familiar with all properties and vehicles owned or operated by Community Living.
- Electrical repairs including but not limited to changing outlets and light fixtures.
- Plumbing repairs, such as unclogging drain lines, repair or replacing plumbing fixtures.
- Appliance repair.
- Carpentry work such as drywall repair, painting, repairing doors, windows, and flooring.
- Ensures automotive maintenance on the Community Living fleet of vehicles including checking fluid levels and keeping records of vehicle maintenance.
- Moving items from one location to another.
- May include subcontract work for other related non-profit agencies with missions similar to Community Living.
- Completes and maintains all required trainings.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to two years of maintenance experience required.
- Electrical experience preferred.
- Possess sound oral and written communication skills as well as decision-making skills.
- Possess good listening and comprehension skills.
- Must be able to write and document in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Possess the ability to use Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work as a team member.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Drive large van to and from repair or maintenance shops.
- Moderate Work – Exerts up to 50lbs of force occasionally and 20lbs frequently. Standing, sitting, reaching, and walking are common.
