As a Junior Electrical Estimator, you’ll help prepare cost estimates for electrical projects. You’ll work closely with our Senior Estimator, attend site visits, gather bids from contractors and vendors, and analyze project plans. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and grow into a more senior estimating role.
What You’ll Do:
- Review project plans and blueprints to understand scope and requirements.
- Attend bid walks and client meetings to gather important project details.
- Create estimates for materials, labor, and overall project costs.
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to collect bids and manage costs.
- Analyze cost data and present your estimates to management.
- Track project costs and compare them to original estimates.
What We’re Looking For:
- Estimating experience, ideally in construction (electrical experience is a plus but not required).
- Experience with project plans and blueprints – you should be comfortable reviewing drawings and understanding the scope of work.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills – you’ll be managing multiple bids and deadlines.
- Good communication skills – you’ll work closely with vendors, contractors, and team members.
- Self-starter – you should be able to work independently and manage your time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and familiarity with estimating software like Accubid Trimble is a plus.
