Current Meditation is a new concept that provides meditation for the modern world. If you like the idea of being at the leading edge of an entirely new industry, this is the job for you. As the Studio Manager, you will be fully responsible for all aspects of studio operations, ensuring your team adheres to standards and always achieves its goals. The Houston studio is the first in a planned national roll-out, so this is a rare opportunity to be part of building a brand from the ground up.
Here’s a “normal” day in the life of a Current Studio Manager:
- Working directly with guests. You’ll be “on the floor” almost every hour of the day, regularly performing all the functions of a front desk associate and ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience. If you want an office job, this isn’t it.
- Driving new guests in the door. You won’t wait for new guests to find us – you’ll find them through proactive outbound marketing and community outreach. You’ll make it your mission to attract new meditators to the brand.
- Leading a high-performing team. You will hire, develop and inspire individuals who care deeply about helping others, ensuring they follow established processes through consistent observation and coaching.
- Handing administrative tasks including staffing, scheduling, ordering, facility maintenance and loss prevention.
Here are the competencies & qualifications we require (please read carefully):
- A genuine belief in the benefits of meditation and mindfulness, along with a passion for sharing those benefits with others.
- At least 3 years of direct supervisory experience in a related customer-facing sales environment, preferably in the retail wellness or fitness space.
- A proven track record of achieving (or exceeding) really important goals. We obsess over results, so be prepared for us to validate yours.
- A complete commitment to processes and standards. Our customers expect a consistent experience, so we’re pretty fussy about the details, and we hire people who are too.
- Adaptability. We’re a new business in a new industry, so we need people who are comfortable with near-constant change as we seek to better understand and serve our customers.
- The ability to deliver and receive candid, constructive feedback. We believe in continuous improvement, so we hire people who believe that negative events are temporary and manageable.
- The ability to use good judgement when making decisions and solving problems, with a bias toward facts over “gut”, feel or instinct.
- Self-motivated and self-managed. We hire people who don’t need their manager to “activate” them, and who believe “good enough” never is.
- The ability to regularly work weekday evenings until 8:30pm, at least 3 weekend days per month, and occasional pop-in visits. Proximity to the studio at West U is a plus.
Compensation:
- Up to $60k-$75k per year based on team performance. This range is comprised of a base salary + potential bonuses
- Service and product discount
- Employment growth opportunities
