Solar Electrician/Installer Lead
BlueSky Electric Company is a full-service electrical contractor that specializes in Solar and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations based in Brooklyn Park, MN and is looking to hire a full-time Solar Electrician/Installer Lead.
This is a hands-on position and will be participating as a working crew member during the PV system installation process. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical experience, general construction knowledge, a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), local & utility codes, and OSHA safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Residential & Commercial solar installation experience.
- JW License minimum of 2-years.
- In depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), grounding, bonding, AC and DC electrical theory.
- Understanding of Building and Electrical codes for solar PV installations.
- Be physical fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, and work on roofs.
- Comfortable working on residential pitched roofs, commercial flat roofs, and at heights.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, and project submittal packages.
- Ability to plan and forecast in order to operate at a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to drive equipment such as boom and scissor lifts, skid steers, telehandlers.
- Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed, work and safety standards are maintained.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Loading and unloading materials to and from the roof/structure being installed on.
- Read plans, specifications, and project submittal packages.
- Take responsibility for personal and electrical safety on the job site by following and enforcing all safety regulations.
- Complete daily progress reports and submit to the project manager.
Compensation Details
- Pay: $180,000 - $190,000 total compensation/benefits package (negotiated union package)
- Expected Hours: 40 hours
- Schedule: Day Shift – Typically from 7am-3:30pm
- 4 weeks paid vacation
