Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems and be adept at both residential and industrial electrical work. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards. The Journeyperson Electrician will work independently as well as collaborate with other tradespeople on various projects.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with NEC standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Work with low voltage systems including lighting controls, alarms, and communication systems.
- Renovate existing electrical installations to improve functionality or comply with updated codes.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or in a similar role within the electrical field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documentation related to electrical installations.
- Familiarity with logic controllers and their applications in various settings is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
