TITLE: ELECTRICIAN IV
LOCATION: PHOENIX, AZ
POSITION SUMMARY: Electrician IV is responsible for the installation, testing and maintenance of electrical systems machinery, equipment, circuitry, and components according to established procedures and specifications in critical facilities. Will test, troubleshoot, and replace electrical components to ensure systems function safely and efficiently. Documents daily operation activities and records tools and materials inventory.

- Installing, repairing and servicing electrical systems
- Provides effective oversight, leadership and administration of safety processes and procedures.
- Responsible for overseeing and leading the work of the Electrical Team.
- Responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of CPG technicians.
- Responsible for inter-team logistical and labor coordination as necessary, including but not limited to Electrical work.
- Maintains a high quality of service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Accomplishes staff management by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Create and inspire team environment with an open communication culture.
- Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
- Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
- Perform site walks and estimating of potential new work.
- Guiding and overseeing other apprentices or journeyman electricians.
- Identify and analyze project deficiencies; Formulate and document plans of action which ensure future deficiencies are eliminated.
- Reviews and approves weekly timesheets.
- Create MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and other technical reports and procedures.
- Ensure operational, maintenance and emergency methods of procedure (MOPs) are strictly used.
- Be familiar with all applicable Federal, State, and local rules, codes, and regulations.
- Other assigned tasks as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred).
- Bachelors Degree in electronics, electrical theory, or similar discipline requires highly desirable or equivalent work experience. Military training is an acceptable equivalent to a formal degree.
- 7+ years of field repair / customer service experience with ups, electrical, electro-mechanical or electronics related equipment or equivalent military equipment experience required. Three to five years of mission critical specific product experience required. Knowledge of Critical Power Systems.
- Experience with critical power equipment, including UPS, switchgear, batteries, monitoring equipment, generators, etc.
- Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Organizational Skills.
- Ability to train, influence and motivate team members.
- Experience writing JHAs, MOPS, technical reports and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Outstanding Customer relations skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Maintain valid state vehicle operator's license.
Computer Skills:
- Technical Writing skills, including use of Word, Excel, MS Project.
- Technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Testing experience per NETA and NICET.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Master Electrician License
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Ability to supervise multiple employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
