Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar energy systems on residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and safety protocols. As a Solar Installer, you will work closely with other team members to ensure that installations are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Install solar panels on rooftops and other structures while adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of solar panel systems.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment effectively for installation tasks.
- Conduct electrical work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Perform low voltage wiring and connections as required for solar energy systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to solar installations, including electrical problems.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are accounted for.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or electrical work is preferred; experience as a commercial electrician is a plus.
- Familiarity with roofing techniques and safety measures when working at heights.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations related to solar installations.
- Proficiency in using voltmeters and other electrical testing equipment.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and technical documents related to solar energy systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials.
