Job Description: Position: Plant Maintenance Technician Location: Raleigh, NC Position Overview: Join our team as a Plant Maintenance Technician with opportunities for growth and competitive compensation up to $30/hr., based on experience. This role involves maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and infrastructure across our industrial facilities. Travel may be required, and a service truck will be provided. Ideally located in or near Columbia, SC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions by listening for unusual sounds and discussing operational issues with supervisors or colleagues.
- Disassemble and replace defective machine parts, ensuring efficient equipment operation.
- Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery components.
- Install, assemble, and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment; replace gauges, valves, and regulators as needed.
- Maintain the physical structure of the facility, including repairs to structures and equipment.
- Utilize welding equipment and cutting torches for metal repairs and fabrications.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical apparatus such as switches, relays, motors, and electronic components.
- Order maintenance-related parts and materials, ensuring timely availability for repairs.
- Perform minor repairs on forklifts, loaders, tractors, and trailers.

Job Requirements: Qualifications:
- Proficiency in welding and cutting torch operations for metal fabrication and repairs.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed during events or emergencies.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning chutes and changing filters.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols including lockout-tagout, fall protection, and confined space procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and unsupervised when required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with air compressor systems and air solenoid valves preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to climb, bend, squat, and lift objects up to 75 lbs.
Work Environment:
- Work may involve climbing and working at heights on plant equipment.
- Exposure to moving machinery parts, various weather conditions, and confined spaces.
