As a KWS employee, you will be responsible for installing Aerial fiber on communication utility poles and installing terminals for houses within numerous city block areas. Must be willing to work outside in harsh conditions at times, climbing up extension ladders, capable of lifting 45 pounds, and being on your feet most of the day. Looking for extremely hard workers that are willing to give it their all to advance in the company. This is a full time position with plenty of overtime and weekends if necessary.
Required Tasks include:
- Reviewing and understanding site plans
- Planning installations by evaluating location, locating access and laying out fiber installation plan
- Installing equipment which includes: running and pulling cable, programming and calibrating equipment while adhering to codes, regulations and standards
- Verifying correct functionality and optimal performance level by testing equipment and connections and identifying and correcting any issues
- Maintaining accurate records through driver log books, pictures, daily report trackers, and timesheets
- Maintaining a safe work environment by following safe practices and adhering to safety policies
- Ensuring adequate material levels by inventorying truck stock.
- Updating and improving your job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Requirements:
- To communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner and have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diplomas or equivalent and a valid driver's license in your primary state of residence is a plus. Class E driver’s license and medical card a plus. If you don’t have a class E or medical card Keystone will pay for you to acquire it after your 90 day probation period.
- Aerial or underground Utility experience is a plus, but we are willing to train on site.
- To successfully complete of pre-employment screening which includes a MVR driving record check
- A strong understanding of handheld electronics, power tools, hand tools including smart phones, iPads, etc.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or inventory software systems is a plus
- Six months of experience in telecommunications, electrical, construction or a related field is a plus
- The ability to embrace change
