Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Substation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment in substations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols, as well as the ability to work effectively in various field conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, and relays.
- Utilize voltmeters and other diagnostic tools to assess electrical systems and identify issues.

- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards during all work activities.
- Conduct utility locating to prevent damage to underground infrastructure during construction or maintenance activities.
- Climb structures and perform tree trimming as necessary to maintain clearances around electrical lines.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used during projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or in a similar role within the utility sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols, and field service operations.
- Ability to climb heights and work in various weather conditions as required by job duties.
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with tree trimming practices is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Pay: $44.00 - $48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
