***THIS IS A REPOST - PREVIOUS APPLICANTS DO NOT NEED TO REAPPLY IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS VACANCY*** The position is assigned to Central Regional Maintenance within the HVAC Shop on the Dorothea Dix Campus and the Governor Morehead School of the Blind. The position will perform tasks of installation, operation, preventive maintenance and repair of campus heating, cooling, and ventilating equipment, refrigeration equipment and related systems; trouble-shooting and testing of electrical, digital, and pneumatic controls; performs journey level work on HVAC equipment and systems to include chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, air compressors, heat converters, and building control systems; performs preventative maintenance actions as required on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, machines, water coolers, air conditioners, and other facility refrigeration equipment. This position provides On-Call coverage as assigned within the established On-Call rotation. This position is a mandatory position and will be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm.About the DHHS Office of Property & Construction: The Division of Property and Construction provides maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds services for the Dorothea Dix Campus which consists of 35 buildings totally 944,700 square feet of building space on 326 acres and provides basic maintenance and grounds services for the Governor Morehead School which has 31 buildings totaling 291,000 square feet of building space.About the NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS): The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees.
