Position: Plumber – Corrections Facility
Summary of responsibilities:
The Plumber shall be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, testing, etc. on all plumbing systems and components of the facility. This position is located in a correctional facility.
Work on all plumbing systems, drains, sprinkler, sewage, and steam systems throughout facility
Responsible for all required inspections on plumbing systems and components. Includes backflows, fire hydrants, fire pumps, water heaters and other pressure vessels, pressure valves, etc.
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on natural gas supply and distribution lines, or other fuel source systems
Coordinate outside contractors for contract work on associated systems
Assist other trades where necessary
Responds to on-call emergency repair work. This includes after hours on-sight response.
Completes corrective and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Performs other duties as assigned
Maintain logs per ACA requirements as applicable
Must haves:
Thorough knowledge of the methods of the installation and repair of plumbing systems
Knowledge of the safety precautions of the plumbing trade, skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment used in the performance of plumbing work
Ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics for associated systems
Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) procedures
Understand and abide by all Lock Out Tag Out procedures
High school diploma, or equivalent
Licensing in applicable trade and jurisdiction preferred
Hours: Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime, holiday, or weekend work as needed.
Travel: No travel required.
