RESIDENTIAL SERVICE TECH POSITION PURPOSE
The Residential HVAC Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This role focuses on ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of existing HVAC equipment while giving the homeowners all options to decide what is best for them. All while providing the best customer service in the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
System Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, changing filters, lubricating parts, and checking electrical connections to the manufacturer's specifications to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues, including component failures, leaks, electrical problems, and refrigerant issues. Perform necessary repairs to restore proper operation.
Part Replacement: Replace faulty or worn-out components, such as motors, capacitors, fans, thermostats, and valves, to ensure system functionality.
Refrigerant Handling: Properly handle and recharge refrigerants, following EPA regulations and best practices.
Documentation: With the use of Service Titan, we maintain detailed records and pictures of all maintenance and repair work, including service reports, parts used, and system specifications.
Customer Interaction: Communicate with homeowners professionally, explaining maintenance and repair needs, providing cost estimates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Continued Education: Stay informed about industry updates, new technologies, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an HVAC training program or relevant certification.
HVAC technician license or certification (if required by state or local regulations).
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if company vehicle operation is required).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools up to 80lbs and/or awkward shapes.
Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including outdoor exposure.
Physical stamina for extended periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
Work Environment:
Work primarily in residential homes, interacting with homeowners.
May work in confined spaces, attics, crawl spaces, and basements.
